This page, originally published to answer the question \u00ab<strong>what will summer camps be like?<\/strong>\u00ab, is preserved as an archive of the pandemic context and links to current information.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>What camp was like during the pandemic<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-cards\">\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Summer 2020<\/h3>\n<p>The first summer after lockdown. Bubble groups were introduced, along with masks indoors, social distancing, hand gel, temperature checks and enhanced cleaning. Some regional authorities delayed the start of camps until their equivalent of Phase 3.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Summer 2021<\/h3>\n<p>Vaccination was advancing. Enhanced hygiene protocols remained in place and antigen tests were introduced at some sessions. Intensive communication with families.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Summer 2022 and beyond<\/h3>\n<p>A return to normal operations, with the reinforced hygiene routines and communication standards integrated as a permanent feature of how camps run.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>What changed for good<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-steps\">\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Communication with families<\/strong> was strengthened: arrival SMS confirmation, a daily social media diary and scheduled calls home every 3-4 days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Hygiene routines<\/strong> before mealtimes and in communal areas have been maintained as a permanent standard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Cancellation protocols<\/strong> and optional cancellation insurance were better documented and are now published clearly in every information sheet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Health management<\/strong> became more professional: first-aid kit, insurance, proximity to health centres and the camp&#8217;s own vehicle for transfers are included in every information sheet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"natu-rich\">\n<h3>What camps are like today<\/h3>\n<p>Natuaventura camps have returned to full normal operations: a ratio of 1 group leader per 8 participants, 4 meals a day with our own kitchen, recommended pocket money of 20-30 &#8364;, mobiles collected on arrival and returned every 3-4 days for calls home, a daily social media diary and the full range of usual multi-adventure activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-faq\">\n<details>\n<summary>Are there still COVID-19 restrictions?<\/summary>\n<p>Not as a general rule. Camps are governed by the standard health regulations for youth activities. Any specific changes are communicated to families in advance.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>What happens if a participant falls ill during camp?<\/summary>\n<p>The standard health protocol is activated: initial assessment, contact with the family and, if necessary, transfer to the nearest health centre or hospital.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>What is the leader-to-participant ratio?<\/summary>\n<p>1 group leader per 8 participants, in groups of 40-50 campers maximum, organised by age.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>How do calls and mobiles work?<\/summary>\n<p>Mobiles are permitted but collected on arrival and returned every 3-4 days for calls home. The team also publishes a daily diary on social media so families can follow the day-to-day.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>How many meals are there and what is the food like?<\/summary>\n<p>Four meals a day (breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner), with our own kitchen at the venue, home-style cooking and menus adapted to allergies and intolerances.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>Is pocket money needed?<\/summary>\n<p>We recommend between 20 and 30 &#8364; per participant for incidental expenses (shops on excursions, souvenirs, etc.).
