This guide combines general kit recommendations with the <strong>official Natuaventura list<\/strong> that applies to our camps: what to bring, what is useful and what is not permitted under any circumstances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The basics: bag, rucksack and sleeping bag<\/h2>\n<p>The first step is choosing the right type of luggage. We recommend a <strong>soft-sided holdall<\/strong> (easier to store in cabins, tipis or shared rooms) and a <strong>hiking rucksack of around 35 litres<\/strong> for day trips. For sleeping at many of our camps you will also need a <strong>sleeping bag (winter weight) and an insulating mat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Official list: what to bring<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-two-col\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Essential<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Soft-sided holdall.<\/li>\n<li>Hiking rucksack (~35 L).<\/li>\n<li>Sleeping bag (winter weight).<\/li>\n<li>Insulating mat.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable and sportswear clothing.<\/li>\n<li>At least two swimming costumes\/trunks.<\/li>\n<li>Cap and sun cream.<\/li>\n<li>Waterproof jacket.<\/li>\n<li>Towels (shower and beach\/pool).<\/li>\n<li>Toiletry bag: shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb, deodorant.<\/li>\n<li>Sports trainers + a spare pair.<\/li>\n<li>Flip-flops.<\/li>\n<li>Water bottle.<\/li>\n<li>Torch.<\/li>\n<li>Plate, cutlery and cup (depending on camp).<\/li>\n<li>Bags for dirty clothes.<\/li>\n<li>Health card and ID \/ parental authorisation for the minor.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"col\">\n<h3>Useful (recommended)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Pyjamas (1 or 2 pairs).<\/li>\n<li>Sweatshirt or light jumper.<\/li>\n<li>Sunglasses.<\/li>\n<li>Lip balm.<\/li>\n<li>Insect repellent.<\/li>\n<li>Simple camera (not a mobile phone).<\/li>\n<li>Hiking boots (depending on planned routes).<\/li>\n<li>River sandals.<\/li>\n<li>Small travel blanket.<\/li>\n<li>20\u201330 EUR in pocket money (excursion spending, souvenirs).<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>What NOT to bring<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-cards\">\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Penknives<\/h3>\n<p>Not permitted at any facility or during a hike or bivouac. The organisation provides the tools needed for each activity.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Games consoles<\/h3>\n<p>No type of console is permitted. The camp is about digital detox and togetherness.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Mobile headphones \/ earbuds<\/h3>\n<p>Mobiles are collected on arrival and returned every 3\u20134 days for calls home, so headphones have no practical use during the session.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Smartwatches with SIM<\/h3>\n<p>Not permitted. As with mobiles, we want to preserve togetherness and full attention during activities.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<h3>Vapes \/ cigarettes<\/h3>\n<p>Vaping and tobacco are not permitted under any circumstances. This is a camp for minors and the policy is strict.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Practical tips for packing<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-steps\">\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Label everything with the child&rsquo;s name:<\/strong> clothing, towels, toiletry bag, water bottle, torch. This dramatically reduces losses during the session.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Pack together with your child:<\/strong> make sure they know what is in the bag and where everything is. That way they will be able to pack up on their own on the day of departure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Bring &ldquo;camp clothes&rdquo;:<\/strong> clothing that can get dirty without it mattering. In multi-adventure, mountain activities and outdoor games, new clothes will suffer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>20\u201330 EUR in coins and small notes:<\/strong> this is the amount we recommend for excursions and small purchases. Enough without being excessive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<p><strong>Health card + parental authorisation:<\/strong> essential to hand over on the first day. The organisation holds them throughout the session.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions about camp kit<\/h2>\n<div class=\"natu-faq\">\n<details>\n<summary>Does the bag need to be a specific size?<\/summary>\n<p>There is no compulsory size, but we recommend a soft-sided bag of a size the child can manage independently. Large rigid cases are awkward in shared accommodation.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>Is a sleeping bag needed even in hostel accommodation?<\/summary>\n<p>Yes, at most of our camps. The information sheet for each destination confirms this. We recommend a winter-weight sleeping bag: at mountain locations, nights can be cool.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>How much pocket money should they take?<\/summary>\n<p>We recommend 20\u201330 EUR. This is the amount designed to cover excursions and small purchases. More adds no benefit and increases the risk of loss.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>What happens if they bring a mobile phone?<\/summary>\n<p>Mobiles are allowed but collected on arrival and returned every 3\u20134 days for calls home. For this reason we advise against special chargers or headphones: they will not be in continuous use.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<details>\n<summary>What if they need medication?<\/summary>\n<p>Medication must be handed in on the first day with the child&rsquo;s medical form, in its original packaging and with clear instructions.
