Recommendations when backpacking for summer camp.

summer camp

What things should I bring in my backpack for a summer camp? That is one of the biggest questions we have when we think about going to camp. It is normal to have these types of doubts, taking into account that we do not want our stay in the camp to be affected by leaving something important at home.

In Natuaventura.com we are going to give you some tips to make it easier for you to pack a suitable backpack, in terms of weight as well as content.

Recommendations when packing a backpack.

The first recommendation when packing a backpack for a summer camp is to always pack it with your child. This is very important, since doing it in their presence will allow the child to know what they have in their backpack and what is inside. Frequently, some children have the necessary items to carry out some activity at camp, but because they have not made the backpack themselves, they do not know what they have in it.

Choosing a small and comfortable backpack is another important recommendation. The ideal is a medium-sized backpack with no wheels that can be easily carried from the bus to the rooms, because that will be the maximum distance they will travel with it on their backs.

Finally, don’t forget to mark the backpack with their name, and also mark all the items you put in it. This will allow the child to avoid confusing his or her items with someone else’s, or a classmate taking them by mistake.

What items should you include in a summer camp backpack?

Once we have selected the appropriate backpack, we should prepare it by including the following:

  • Include 8 short-sleeved T-shirts. One of them is recommended to be plain and white.
  • 3 long-sleeved hoodies.
  • 3 shorts.
  • 8 changes of underwear and 8 pairs of socks.
  • 1 pair of sneakers and depending on the type of camp, also include 1 pair of hiking boots.
  • 2 swimsuits and 1 pair of flip flops for the pool.
  • 1 pair of pajamas.
  • 2 bath towels. It is recommended that one towel is for the shower and the other for the pool.
  • Bag with hygiene items (shampoos, toothpaste, brush, gel, comb, high protection sunscreen, moisturizer, lip balm).
  • Depending on the type of camp, it is advisable to bring a sleeping bag.
  • (Mosquito repellent is optional).
  • A hat.

Obviously, depending on the type of camp, you should include some items or others. But in general with this list, it is more than enough for a stay of at least 15 days. Including this in your backpack, you will be fully prepared to enjoy the summer camp with your friends and spend amazing days.
