Facilities in the heart of the mountains: the Navarredonda Nature Multiadventure Camp
What better place to organise a tent summer camp than at a venue called Aula de la Naturaleza (Classroom of Nature)? This is the space where the Navarredonda nature multiadventure camp is located, on the outskirts of the town of the same name.
It is a facility that depends on the Navarredonda town council and is leased to Natuaventura Ocio y Tiempo throughout the month of July for the running of camps. It therefore holds all the necessary permits and benefits from appropriate, timely maintenance to allow leisure activities and camping to take place.
Not to mention that it is a enclosed site, where both the campers and the monitor team are housed. In this way, both the activities and the supervision of daily life are managed by a team of professionals.
It is a dynamic and fully equipped space for enjoying fifteen days with all the comforts needed for an authentic nature experience. It benefits from the protection and natural privilege that comes with being part of the regional park of the Sierra de Gredos.

1. The Unique Location of the Navarredonda Nature Multiadventure Camp
Our nature multiadventure camp is located in Navarredonda de Gredos. It is a privileged natural environment, surrounded by impressive mountains and green landscapes, ideal for practising a variety of outdoor sports and activities that invite adventure and discovery.
The facility sits in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, surrounded by vast woodland, natural pools and an idyllic setting for nature activities. It also benefits from the River Tormes, which flows alongside the camp.
This location is no coincidence; it was carefully chosen to offer a unique camp experience, where nature plays a crucial role in the development of activities. The proximity to crystal-clear rivers and mountain trails allows campers to explore the beauty of the surroundings whilst taking part in exciting activities.
What is more, we sleep in tents. It is a perfect location with an unrivalled environment that not only provides a perfect backdrop for adventure but also promotes wellbeing and connection with nature — aspects that are fundamental to personal growth and learning.

2. Facilities of the Nature Multiadventure Camp
Aula de la Naturaleza has spacious areas for pitching the tents that will house the children and monitors. It is a large expanse of land with several play areas and buildings to support daily life.
Within the facility, just a few metres from the tents, there are several buildings that make up the technical infrastructure needed to run the camp. These include:
- A building with an enclosed dining room fitted with wooden benches and tables, with a capacity of 180 people. We also use it as a multipurpose space (especially when the weather requires it, such as rain or cold).
- A building with a pantry and kitchen where home-cooked meals are prepared.
- A building where the boys’ bathroom is on the right-hand side and the girls’ bathroom is on the left (both with individual showers).
- Between the two bathrooms there is the equipment room, the medical room and the first-aid kit.
- A row of outdoor wash stations where we can clean our utensils.
- 3–4 person tents.
- A mountain environment.
- And most importantly, we do not share facilities — they are private and dedicated solely to the running of our camp.
FACILITIES AND SAFETY
In addition, we complete the facilities with everything needed for the best possible running of the camp, including qualified monitors and a coordinator on duty 24 hours a day; a first-aid kit; support vehicles; sports and leisure equipment; emergency telephone numbers and the organisation’s number for calling home; specialist monitors for multiadventure activities; transport to excursions; public liability and accident insurance; full board, and more.
Safety is a priority at our camps. Monitors and coordinators keep watch round the clock and are trained in first aid, ensuring that any situation can be managed efficiently and effectively. This attention to safety allows participants to fully enjoy the activities without worry, knowing they are in good hands and in a safe environment.

3. How Is a Tent Camp Organised?
This is the most common question asked by parents who are not yet familiar with how our nature multiadventure camp works. And although the question is perfectly understandable at first, it soon becomes clear that the way the Navarredonda summer camp runs is very similar to that of camps held in cabins or hostels.
The only difference is the enjoyment of greater contact with nature and a completely immersive experience in a spectacular natural environment like the Sierra de Gredos.
To run a tent summer camp, the first requirement is to have a suitable facility and good-quality tents. Both are guaranteed in Navarredonda. The tents (owned by Natuaventura) used at the camp are inspected a few weeks before the start to make sure they are in good condition. They are pitched on the first day by the campers and monitors, and throughout the camp they are readjusted at certain points to ensure they remain in good order.
How many people do the tents hold?
They have capacity for four people, but they are normally divided into groups of three (separated by gender) so that children have a little more space for their bags.
The allocation of tents is done with the age-group division in mind. As a result, there are different zones within the camping area: the younger children’s zone, the middle group’s zone and the older children’s zone. In this way, the monitor team knows which area each group is in and pitches their own tents near each section.
Participants, in turn, know from the very first day which tents belong to the monitors. Each tent has a designated monitor responsible for their group.

4. Day-to-Day Life at a Tent Camp
Designated monitor
As mentioned above, each tent has a designated monitor. This is fundamental to the day-to-day running of the camp and its smooth operation. Tents are an unusual form of accommodation for most participants. It is therefore very important that the monitor team makes it easy for children to settle in during the first few days — especially for the youngest ones.
This settling-in process is made possible through the tent monitor system. This monitor is the main point of reference for a tent of children, being the person who knows them most closely. They speak with them every day after activities to find out how they got on and how they are feeling. In this way, the monitor team is aware of how all participants are getting on from the very first day. This ensures that all children can always turn to a monitor they trust if anything happens or if they have any questions.
A typical day at the camp
The Navarredonda camp is organised around three activity sessions: morning, afternoon and the evening show. There are four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. In addition to the activities, there are also free periods during which children have the option of joining in with games organised by the monitor team or having some time to themselves.
During these moments, participants enjoy time for themselves — to socialise and engage in free play. The monitors live alongside them throughout the camp and so also take part in these periods, creating an atmosphere of trust and a sense of family so strong that on many occasions it is what encourages children to come back to camp summer after summer.

5. Why the Aula de la Naturaleza Facility
The campers themselves say that one of the greatest challenges they most enjoy is sleeping in tents. It becomes an activity in its own right for them — something they feel is completely fun and outside their comfort zone, so that something as simple as bedtime takes them out of their routine and turns it into an adventure.
Aula de la Naturaleza is the perfect space for this, since being a site reserved exclusively for the camp means we benefit from greater safety and peace of mind. Not to mention that even though we are in the middle of nature and the fresh air of the Sierra de Gredos, we have all the basic necessities for daily life — making it a true thousand-star hotel.
