Why Go on a School Trip?

School trips were once an activity reserved exclusively for the end of a school cycle. As a result, only pupils in their final year of primary school or the last year of secondary school got to enjoy them. Over time, however, this option has become widespread across all year groups, as it is considered a unique opportunity for several reasons.

The main one is to strengthen the cohesion of the group of pupils. Children are used to living alongside one another and sharing moments together in the classroom, but most of them spend their leisure time only with their close group of friends. School trips are a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge of classmates they interact with less often, as well as to consolidate and develop existing friendships in a different environment.

School trips also encourage the autonomy and self-confidence of the participants. Spending a few days away from their usual place of residence and establishing new routines helps them become more independent and trust their own abilities — qualities that will serve them well in a future where novelty is the norm.

In addition, learning new knowledge through the cultural activities undertaken during the trip is another of its great strengths. Discovering tourist destinations, broadening their understanding of social sciences, culture, and the natural world, as well as taking part in new sports that are rarely available back home: all of this makes the perfect supplement to these trips.
