Activities at the Madrid Multiadventure Camp

What could the main theme of the activities at a camp called Madrid Multiadventure be? As the name itself suggests, it is none other than active and alternative sport in natural surroundings. The combination of fun, exercise and nature is what makes up the concept of multiadventure, also known as active tourism. It is this approach around which the first camps emerged, and which continues to underpin the planning of many of them.

Madrid Multiadventure has its origins as a summer camp with this very objective: to pass on the values associated with fun and sport in natural surroundings. This gives rise to a programme with a clear active foundation, but one that does not confine all its hours to multiadventure. It also leaves room for other activities such as themed treasure hunts, camping nights, workshops and evening events.

1. Multiadventure Activities

One of the advantages of doing the Madrid Multiadventure Camp at the Albergue Sierra Norte is that the accommodation itself has facilities for many of these activities. This means campers can enjoy climbing, archery, slacklining and zip-lining without having to travel, and these disciplines are also incorporated into other games. All of them are run by professional group leaders who hold qualifications in their respective disciplines.

Archery follows the safety protocols required for the safe practice of this sport. Both the zip-line and climbing are carried out with harness and helmet, using the purpose-built structures within the hostel. These occupy a prime spot within the hostel, carefully maintained at all times. From the top of the climbing wall, participants can look out over the entire facility as well as the wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.

2. Water Activities

Although we might tend to think otherwise, multiadventure activities are not limited solely to those carried out in the mountains. They cover all types of sport that involve contact with nature. For that reason, given that the surroundings of the Sierra Norte de Madrid also include impressive stretches of water, what better than to add water activities to the camp’s programme?

That is why, making the most of its magnificent location, the Madrid Multiadventure Camp also includes activities such as canoeing. This takes place on the Atazar reservoir, one of the five most important bodies of water in the area. For the canoeing session, the group leaders and participants receive assistance and supervision from professional canoeists dedicated to the practice and teaching of this sport.

The first thing that happens is a briefing covering the safety rules, which it is essential for participants to understand and follow during the activity. They are provided with life jackets and paired up, so that every two participants share a canoe. Accompanied at all times by both the camp’s group leaders and the activity’s own instructors, they spend two hours canoeing. During this time they enjoy the scenery and the satisfaction of sport practised in a natural setting. Navigating the Atazar reservoir will be one of the experiences they remember most when the camp is over.

In addition to this, the Madrid Multiadventure Camp benefits from the proximity of the municipal swimming pool in the village of Manjirón. The group will visit it several times to cool off and supplement the daily activities with fun games and group dynamics.

3. Trekking Routes

There is no better way to discover the corners that nature has to offer in the Community of Madrid than by exploring those same spaces on foot. In doing so, our image of the region surrounding the capital will undoubtedly change and come to include all the places that the participants of the Madrid Multiadventure Camp have discovered thanks to the camp. This is made possible by the numerous excursions that form the ideal complement to the camp’s multiadventure programme.

One of the main excursions is the one the entire camp makes to the Riosequillo natural pools. The reservoir of the same name is one of the largest natural swimming areas in Spain. It has a recreational area with several bathing zones for both adults and children, surrounded by spacious green areas. The excursion to Riosequillo thus combines games and activities both in the water and in the large adjacent open spaces.

Alongside Riosequillo, the Madrid Multiadventure Camp also makes excursions to the El Villar reservoir, where participants walk along its banks and take in the spectacular landscape of pine forests and reservoirs. A full-day route around the areas surrounding the hostel also allows participants to enjoy nature from the perspective of physical activity and trekking. The excursion ends with a night of camping, where the group sleeps under an impressive blanket of stars.

4. Yellow Humour

At Natuaventura we have a circuit packed with inflatable objects and giant structures that are set up for a full day at each camp. The children are split into teams and rotate through each attraction to enjoy themselves and have a great time. Without doubt it is one of the most popular and highly rated activities at our summer camps.

5. The Themed Day

It is common at Summer Camps to include a full day themed around a different theme each year. On this very special day, activities run from morning to night all following the same theme, with group leaders dressed up in character.

Themed days typically include a craft workshop so that campers can be creative and take on different roles within the game, a game lasting several hours after lunch with a performance by the group leader team, and finally an evening event to close the day.

What makes these days truly special is the decoration of the camp around the chosen theme, the group leaders in costume throughout the day and the surprises that can be included during the campers’ meals. With this kind of game the aim is for the children to feel as though they are inside a film or immersed in another magical world — who would not be surprised to wake up to a letter from Hogwarts on the breakfast table or a Mario Kart race at snack time?

6. Ropes Garden

Another of the most exciting activities we offer at our Madrid Multiadventure Camp is the Ropes Garden, an experience that combines challenge, fun and teamwork in an unrivalled natural setting.

The Ropes Garden is a high-ropes adventure circuit made up of various obstacles and challenges built with ropes, suspension bridges, nets and platforms set among the trees. This activity is designed for participants to test their balance, coordination and courage, always under the supervision of specialist group leaders and with the highest safety standards.

7. Parque Warner

The excursion to Parque Warner is one of the most eagerly awaited activities at the Madrid Multiadventure Camp, offering participants a day filled with excitement, magic and fun in a unique setting.

This theme park is the ideal place to enjoy thrilling rides, spectacular shows and the company of iconic film and television characters. Every corner of Parque Warner is designed to transport visitors into the world of their favourite heroes and characters, creating unforgettable moments for everyone.
