The accommodation for the Cuenca Multi-adventure Camp has a name of its own: Albergue Alta-Lai, on Calle Escultor Jamete in Casillas de Ranera (Cuenca), in the heart of the Serranía de Cuenca. It is a facility designed specifically for residential camps, with swimming pools, a ropes park and a climbing wall all within the site. The phrase that best sums it up is the one the activity leaders repeat: «here we don’t share our facilities».
Where It Is
The hostel is located in Casillas de Ranera, a village in the Serranía de Cuenca. In the official camp departure and arrival documentation it is referenced as Talayuelas – Cuenca; both references point to the same facility on Calle Escultor Jamete. It is 3 hours from Madrid by coach and 1 hour from the Valencia coast beaches, making it possible to include a full beach day within the session programme. The village centre, with all services, is 7 minutes away.
About the Facility
Designed for Camps
The Alta-Lai was built with groups of children and young people in mind. This is evident in the layout of the zones, the shared areas, the outdoor spaces and the safety measures throughout the facility.
Exclusive Use
During the session, the hostel belongs to the camp. Pools, dining room and climbing wall are not shared with other groups, allowing the day to be organised freely without any outside waiting.
Swimming Pools on Site
The pools are within the site itself — no transfers needed. Daily use during free time at midday and a guaranteed cool-down on hot sierra days.
Climbing Wall and Ropes Park
Climbing wall and ropes park integrated within the facility, with their own equipment and supervision. The backbone of most of the camp’s technical activities.

The Surroundings: Serranía de Cuenca
The Alta-Lai is surrounded by the Serranía de Cuenca, with natural pools, river bathing areas and green spaces nearby. It is an inland setting, but with two features that make it distinctive: proximity to the Valencia coast (1 hour) makes the beach day within the session possible; and proximity to Terra Mítica makes the other main excursion of the programme possible.
Daily Life at the Facility
Four meals a day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner) prepared in the hostel’s own kitchen. Indoor dining room, home-cooked food and menus adapted for allergies.
Mobile phones collected on arrival and returned for calls home every 3–4 days. Social media diary for families and confirmation SMS on arrival.
Ratio of 1 activity leader per 8 participants and maximum groups of 40–50, with activity leaders staying at the facility itself.
Medical care close by: the hostel is 7 minutes from the village centre where all services are concentrated. First-aid kit on site and the camp’s own vehicle for transfers.
