The Bivouac: The Defining Experience

If there is one activity that sets the Gredos camp apart from the rest, it is the bivouac. One day of the stay is dedicated to leaving the camp area and setting up a proper overnight camp in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos: the group heads out with activity leaders and equipment, has dinner on the mountain and sleeps a night under the stars. For most participants it is the first night of this kind in their lives and, almost invariably, the one they remember most.

Mobiles are collected on arrival and returned for calls home every 3–4 days; families receive a daily diary on social media and 20–30 euros pocket money is recommended.
