The accommodation at the Gredos Multi-Adventure Camp is not a hostel: it consists of tents within a municipal facility purpose-built for residential camps. Located at AV-941, km 21.5, Hoyos del Collado (Ávila), in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, this is the feature that most distinguishes this camp from others in the group.
Where It Is
The facility is in Hoyos del Collado, in the province of Ávila, within the Sierra de Gredos. Access is via the AV-941, km 21.5. It is 2 minutes from the village centre, where local services are concentrated. The site is a municipal facility with exclusive use for residential camps: its zones, access routes and dining area are all designed for groups of 40–50 children and young people.
Camping Areas
Tree-lined and Illuminated
The camping areas are set on wooded plots with night-time lighting. The natural shade is built into the site’s layout, helping participants rest during warm days.
3–4-Person Tents
Non-mixed tents for 3–4 people, grouped by age. Participants share a tent with members of their own group and activity leaders.
Separate Toilet Blocks
Male and female toilet blocks, separated, with individual showers. Accessible from the camping areas within a short walk.
Covered Outdoor Dining Area
The dining area is outdoors but covered: a coherent solution for the setting, allowing all four daily meals to be served without the need for an enclosed building.
A Facility Designed Exclusively for Camps
Built for This Purpose
- Municipal facility with exclusive use for residential camps.

- Camping areas, dining area and toilets conceived as a single integrated space.
No Shared Access with Other Groups
- During each session, the facility belongs entirely to the camp.
- «We do not share facilities.»
- This allows the day to be organised without external overlap.
Daily Life at the Facility
Own kitchen, four meals a day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner) in the covered outdoor dining area. Home-cooked food and menus adapted for allergies.
Mobile phones collected on arrival and returned for calls home every 3–4 days. A social media diary is published daily for families, and recommended pocket money is €20–30.
Ratio of 1 activity leader per 8 participants and groups of no more than 40–50, with activity leaders also camping at the facility.
Medical assistance nearby: 2 minutes from the village centre, where services are located. First-aid kit on site and a dedicated vehicle available for transfers.
The Surroundings: Sierra de Gredos
The Sierra de Gredos surrounds the site. Natural pools, river swimming spots and mountain trails are all within immediate reach and form the backbone of a large part of the activities programme. This same environment makes the bivouac night that defines the camp possible.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Accommodation
Why tents rather than a hostel?
Because the camp was conceived around a municipal facility specifically designed for camping. The areas are tree-lined and illuminated, the tents are 3–4-person and non-mixed, and the separate toilet blocks are just a few metres away. For many participants, sleeping in a tent is part of what brings them back to Gredos.
What are the tents like exactly?
They are 3–4-person, non-mixed tents, grouped by age. Each participant shares a tent with members of their own group. Activity leaders are also camped at the facility.
What about the toilets and showers?
There are separate male and female toilet blocks with individual showers, accessible from the camping areas.
What happens with the dining area if it rains?
The dining area is outdoors but covered. It is designed for use in any weather, within the site itself, without the need to move elsewhere.
How far are local services?
The facility is 2 minutes from the village centre, where services are concentrated. It is set in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, with natural pools and river swimming in the immediate surroundings.
