The Unique Location of Hoyos del Collado

Our Gredos tent multiadventure camp takes place near the village of Hoyos del Collado. This small municipality is situated in the heart of Ávila province and belongs to the community of Piedrahita. The camp takes its name from its location in the very heart of the Sierra de Gredos.

This mountain range — one of the main branches of the Central System — encompasses four provinces within its natural environment, making it a uniquely biodiverse place. Such is its importance that a large part of the range falls within the regional park of the Sierra de Gredos, offering breathtaking mountain views and direct access to numerous hiking and exploration routes.

Within this natural setting, several lakes stand out, such as the Laguna Grande de Gredos, the Laguna del Barco and the Cinco Lagunas. Other notable features of the area include the great variety of its flora and the remarkable interest of its geomorphology. It also enjoys a warm climate during the day and cool temperatures at night, offering great possibilities for outdoor activities.

Hoyos del Collado is thus an ideal location for a camp, and its mountain spirit connects directly with the philosophy of the multiadventure tent camp.

Frequently Asked Questions — Gredos Camp

Choosing the right summer camp for your children can raise many questions and doubts. Will it be safe? Can we speak with them? How are special needs or diets handled?

We answer your questions to give parents and future campers greater peace of mind and clarity.

Are there monitors on duty 24 hours a day? Will my children be well looked after? // OUR TEAM

Our camp has a specialist team comprising 1 monitor for every 8 participants, plus additional organisational staff including a coordinator and support personnel, guaranteeing continuous attention to children 24 hours a day. With 20 years of experience in summer camps, we look after more than 2,000 children each year. For any queries, we have a team at our office in Madrid and provide a contact phone number available 24 hours during the camp.

Our monitors, who have extensive experience, are mostly former campers trained on our courses, ensuring a deep commitment and understanding of our activities. We also make it easy to book and pay online, and keep parents informed via emails and SMS messages with all relevant camp details and updates.

What if my child has an allergy or special need?

If your child requires a special diet or regular medication, our camp is prepared to meet these needs with a large and professional team. We offer a balanced menu tailored to daily activities, ensuring four meals a day including breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner. For children with food allergies, we provide adapted menus so that their experience is as close as possible to that of the other children.

It is essential for us to know any detail that may affect your child’s well-being, including food preferences or dislikes. We strive to ensure that campers are safe and comfortable, so open communication with parents and an immediate response to their concerns are a priority for our monitors, who always act with the utmost respect and care.

Will we be able to speak with our children during the camp? Will they have their mobile phones?

At the Gredos Camp, communication with campers is kept regular and organised. On arrival, parents will receive a confirmation SMS, and from the following day, children will be able to call home every 3–4 days. Although mobile phones are allowed, they will not be in the children’s possession during the day — they will be stored safely and used only for these scheduled calls.

In addition, parents can keep up with the camp’s daily activities through a photo diary published on social media (and later on our website).

What happens if there is an accident?

We have a health centre in Hoyos del Espino and a general hospital in Ávila, as well as an assistance service provided by our insurers to deal with any emergency. The camp also has a first-aid kit and a support vehicle available 24 hours a day.

Is there a laundry service?

There is no laundry service, but if a child runs out of clean clothes we will help and wash whatever they need. On the kit list we ask for a variety of clothing to cover all the days of the camp.

MEDICINES // HEALTH INSURANCE CARD

If your child needs to take any medication, their tent monitor will be responsible for keeping it and giving it to them at each dose time as agreed with you.

Children do not need to bring a first-aid kit. If they need any other medicine, we will arrange it for them — after a visit to the doctor or after speaking with you if it is something minor (a headache, for example).

Each child must bring their health insurance card, which we will collect on arrival at the camp. The camp includes accident insurance, but we will use the card if a visit to the doctor is needed for a common illness.

Is there a bus to the camp?

Yes, it is an optional service. We offer transport from Madrid and Las Rozas de Madrid.

Do they need to bring money to the camp?

The camp is all-inclusive, but they may bring a small amount of pocket money for the odd soft drink or snack on excursions.

How many places do the tents have? Who do they sleep with?

In Gredos we have tents with 3 to 4 places. We organise the tents by talking with the children themselves on the first day, after running some getting-to-know-you games.

We manage this so that they are with other campers of similar ages and can be with their friends if they have come together. If they do not know anyone, do not worry — we take care of it. Tents are not mixed; boys and girls sleep separately.

At Natuaventura our aim is to assure you that the camp is not only an exciting and fun option for your children, but also a safe and enriching environment where they can grow and learn. If you have any question not covered here, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
