Activities at the Piedralaves Multi-adventure and Mountain Camp

The Aventura Piedralaves Camp is temporarily off the catalogue and will return in summer 2027. If you would like to be notified when enrolment opens, please contact the Natuaventura office. In the meantime, we leave here a record of what made this mountain camp so special — set in the Valle del Tiétar, within the Sierra de Gredos.

The Spirit of the Piedralaves Camp

Piedralaves picked up where the long-established Barco de Ávila Camp left off, keeping the same dynamics, spirit and values in another small Ávila village, in the Valle del Tiétar. The idea was always the same: to offer a multi-adventure and mountain experience in a privileged natural setting, with qualified activity leaders, activities adapted to different levels and a great deal of cooperative play.

The Multi-adventure Activities

Ropes Garden and Zip Lines

A classic camp activity at a ropes park close to Piedralaves, where campers enjoy aerial circuits and zip lines at different heights.

Archery

One of the favourite activities summer after summer — simple yet demanding, with each camper trying to improve their score year on year.

Climbing

The facility had no climbing wall of its own, but the team worked on climbing at suitable nearby areas, making full use of the Valle del Tiétar’s natural environment.

Gymkhanas and Cooperative Games

Challenges, tasks and team activities combining physical and mental elements — the element that most structured the day-to-day life of the camp.

The Surroundings: Natural Pools and Mountains

The Valle del Tiétar and the Sierra de Gredos offer one of the highest concentrations of natural pools on the Iberian Peninsula. After activity sessions, campers can swim and cool off in these crystal-clear spots surrounded by nature — one of the most remembered experiences of the camp.

What a Typical Day Was Like

Morning technical activity: archery, ropes garden, climbing or gymkhana in rotating groups.

Lunch and rest: in the facility’s covered dining room, with full board and home-cooked food.

Afternoon large games or cooling off: depending on the heat, a large game within the facility or an outing to natural pools.

Dinner and evening activity: a themed night with activity leaders in costume, group games and a reflection on the day before bedtime.

Back to the tipi: glamping-style accommodation with bunk beds, a bedtime chat with the key activity leader and rest.
