Alta-Lai Hostel: Accommodation at the Cuenca Multi-Adventure Camp

The accommodation for the Cuenca Multi-Adventure Camp has its own name: Alta-Lai Hostel, on Calle Escultor Jamete in Casillas de Ranera (Cuenca), in the heart of the Serranía de Cuenca. It is a facility designed specifically for summer camps, with swimming pools, a ropes course and an indoor climbing wall within the grounds themselves. The phrase that best sums it up is the one the activity leaders repeat: «here we don’t share facilities with anyone else».

Where it is

The hostel is located in Casillas de Ranera, a village in the Serranía de Cuenca. In the official camp departure and arrival documentation it is referenced as Talayuelas – Cuenca; both references point to the same facility, situated on Calle Escultor Jamete. It is 3 hours from Madrid by coach and 1 hour from the Valencia coast beaches, which allows a full day at the beach to be included within the session programme. 7 minutes from the village centre, where all local amenities are found.

What the facility is like

Designed for summer camps

Alta-Lai was built with groups of children and young people in mind. That shows in the layout of the zones, the communal spaces, the outdoor areas and the safety measures throughout the facility.

Exclusive use — no sharing with other groups

During the session, the hostel belongs to the camp. Swimming pools, dining room and climbing wall are not shared, which means the day can be organised freely and without external waiting times.

Swimming pools on site

The pools are within the grounds themselves — no need to travel. Daily use during free time and guaranteed refreshment on hot days in the sierra.

Climbing wall and ropes course

Indoor climbing wall and ropes course integrated within the facility, with their own equipment and supervision. The centrepiece of many of the camp’s technical activities.

The surroundings: Serranía de Cuenca

Alta-Lai is surrounded by the Serranía de Cuenca, with natural swimming pools, river bathing areas and green spaces in the vicinity. It is an inland setting, but with two distinctive features: its proximity to the Valencia coast (1 hour away) makes a beach day possible within the session; and its closeness to Terra Mítica theme park enables the other main excursion of the programme.

Daily life at the facility

Mobile phones collected on arrival and returned for calls home every 3–4 days. Daily diary on social media for families and a confirmation text message on arrival.

Ratio of 1 activity leader per 8 participants and maximum groups of 40–50, with activity leaders housed within the facility itself.
