Advantages of Multi-Adventure Camps: Why They Are the Most Popular Choice

ventajas de los campamentos multiaventura

Multi-adventure is, by far, the format most chosen by families who want a «proper» camp: a variety of activities, nature, sport and a large group to share life with. Compared to purely sports-based, urban or language camps, multi-adventure offers a complete menu where no two days are alike.

What exactly is a multi-adventure camp?

It is a summer camp whose programme combines several outdoor disciplines rotating throughout the fortnight: climbing, archery, mountain trails, orienteering games, natural swimming pools, ropes gardens, workshops and themed evening events. Children and teenagers try a little of everything, discover which discipline they enjoy most and come home with a far broader toolkit than they had when they left.

Five advantages over other camp formats

Real variety, not monotony

At a purely sports camp, every morning means training the same thing. At a multi-adventure camp, activities rotate every day: climbing today, a trail tomorrow, Humor Amarillo the day after. The mind never gets bored because there is always something new.

Nature in the open air

Sierra de Madrid, Sierra de Gredos, Serranía de Cuenca, Cantabria, Alicante. Multi-adventure camps are born in direct contact with the natural world: climbing walls in the forest, natural pools in rivers, trails that end at a swimming hole. Screens stay at home.

They learn new disciplines

Many children try their first climb, their first archery session, their first surfboard, their first kayak there. Without competitive pressure, without grades: just the pleasure of trying and discovering they dare more than they thought.

A large and diverse group

We work with groups of 40–50 children per session divided by age, with a ratio of 1 activity leader per 8 participants. The diversity of personalities enriches communal life: sporty, creative, shy, leaders… everyone finds their place.

Community living 24/7

Eating, playing and sleeping with the group for 13–14 days creates bonds that an urban morning camp or an intensive course cannot replicate. It is the ingredient that makes so many children return year after year.

Balance of body and mind

Morning of physical activity, afternoon of a big game or workshop, evening programme. The structure combines effort and rest, sport and creativity. They come home tired but restored, in the best sense.

How we organise the day at a Natuaventura multi-adventure camp

What is planned

  • Four meals a day with an on-site kitchen and adapted menus.
  • Morning of technical activity (climbing, archery, trail…).
  • Afternoon of a large team game.
  • Evening programme prepared by the activity leaders.
  • Calls home every 3–4 days.

What is not planned

  • The friendships made in the dining room.
  • The corridor conversations before bed.
  • The first «I can do it alone» from the child who arrived frightened.
  • The nickname a friend gives them on the second day that stays with them for the rest of the summer.

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need prior sporting experience?

No. Activities are designed for beginners: the activity leader explains everything from scratch, all equipment is sized for novices and groups are formed by age. Those who arrive with experience simply move up a level in difficulty for each discipline.

How is it different from a surf or English camp?

Multi-adventure offers variety: activities rotate every day. A surf camp concentrates every morning on surfing, and an English camp applies language immersion to all activities. Multi-adventure is the most balanced option for anyone who does not want to commit to a single discipline.

Is climbing, zip-lining or kayaking safe?

Yes, always with approved equipment, activity leaders trained in each discipline and a ratio of 1 activity leader per 8 participants. Height activities use a harness, helmet and double safety line. We have been organising these camps for over a decade.

Are groups mixed by age?

Community living groups are formed by age: young children share rooms, dining and games with peers of their own age range, and teenagers with theirs. For large team activities (Humor Amarillo, Olympics) age groups do mix, which is part of the appeal.

What clothing and equipment is needed?

At enrolment we send a detailed list: sportswear, swimwear, hiking footwear, a small rucksack for excursions, a cap, sun cream and toiletries. Technical equipment (ropes, harnesses, boards, bows) is provided by the organisation.
