The coach transfer service is one of the most practical and reassuring aspects for families and, at the same time, one that is most debated. Taking your child by car or dropping them off at the departure point both have concrete advantages and disadvantages. In this article we run through them and show the departure points across the Natuaventura catalogue.
Advantages of the transfer service
Logistical convenience
No driving hundreds of kilometres on a Saturday in July or managing parking at the facility. The family drops the child off at an urban departure point and picks them up there on return.
Immersion from the very first minute
The camp begins on the coach: activity leaders on board, other children, first conversations. Arriving as a group makes immediate integration much easier.
Lower environmental impact
One coach replaces 30–40 family cars. The transport footprint per participant drops dramatically.
Safety
A professional vehicle with a licensed driver, activity leaders on the coach throughout the journey and direct communication with the organisation.
Disadvantages to bear in mind
Limitations
- Fixed departure and return times with no flexibility
- A specific departure point that families must travel to
- Long journey (3–5 hours depending on the destination)
- For children prone to travel sickness, a first test to factor in
When it may not be worth it
- Families living very close to the camp location
- First-time children who are very nervous and prefer an accompanied arrival
- A family event coinciding with the start date
- Need to transport bulky extra items (instruments, medical equipment)

How to make the most of the transfer service
Arrive with time to spare: turn up 20–30 minutes before the stated time to handle bag drop-off, medication and any paperwork.
Pack sensibly: a soft-sided rucksack or bag, no rigid wheels. The journey from the coach to the room is one the child should manage on their own. Label the name on the outside.
Small coach kit: water bottle, snack, a book or quiet game. Mobile phones are handed over to the organisation on arrival at the destination.
Keep goodbyes brief: it makes boarding the coach easier. A prolonged goodbye tends to complicate the moment, especially for a first-time camper.
Frequently asked questions
Is the coach service included in the price?
Yes, the return transfer from the indicated departure points is included in the camp price. Families choose which departure point to use.
What if we take our child to the camp ourselves?
That is possible. You will need to coordinate the arrival time with the organisation to hand over your child when the group is gathering, and collect them on the return day.
Are there activity leaders on the coach?
Yes. Camp activity leaders travel on the coach throughout the entire journey, managing the group, breaks and any issues that arise.
What if my child gets travel sick on a coach?
We recommend letting the organisation know in advance. There are intermediate stops and activity leaders can help the child during the journey.
Can I change the departure point after booking?
Usually yes, with sufficient notice. It is worth confirming by email with the organisation so that it is updated on the coach list.
