Location and transport

Camp Location

The hostel is located in the Monte neighbourhood, just 3 km from the beaches of El Sardinero and La Magdalena. Also on the outskirts of the centre, surrounded by nature, offering a calm and serene setting, far from the noise and bustle of urban areas. Santander and its surroundings offer us an incomparable setting for carrying out nature activities, combining beach and mountains.

The accommodation is 2km from La Maruca beach, reached via a short walking route along the paths of the Monte neighbourhood. The beach is located in a privileged corner of the mouth of the Ría de San Pedro. From there they can walk down to swim in the sea along the sand or to buy an ice cream on the seafront promenade.

We cannot talk about the experiences around the hostel without mentioning the famous route to Berria Beach that our Santander Surf Camps take.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have a nearby health centre, as well as an assistance service provided by our insurance policies, to respond to any emergency.

We work with a team of one instructor for every 8 participants. We also have extra organisational staff, such as the camp coordinator and other support staff. The team of instructors and the coordinator live at the facility and keep an eye on the kids 24 hours a day.

At all our camps we have a kitchen team at the camp itself. We prepare a balanced menu adapted to each day’s activities. We always provide 4 meals a day with breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. If your son or daughter has any food allergy don’t worry, they will have an adapted menu as similar as possible to what the rest of the kids are eating. If during the camp your child tells you they are not satisfied with the food LET US KNOW, it is a priority for us and if we know about it we will resolve it immediately.

There is no laundry service but if a child runs out of clean clothes we will help them and wash what they need. In the packing list we ask for varied clothing to last all the days of camp.

If your son or daughter has to take any medication, their cabin/room instructor will take charge of keeping it and giving it to them at each dose you have indicated to us. The kids do not need to bring a first aid kit; if they need any other medicine we will take care of providing it, after visiting the doctor or after speaking with you if it is something minor.

Each child must bring their health card/photocopy and we will collect it on arrival at camp. The camp includes accident insurance but we will use the card in case of going to the doctor for common illness.

Yes, it is an optional service. We have transport from Madrid and Las Rozas.

Yes they can bring a mobile phone but they will not have it on them day to day. We will give them the phone so they can call home every 3-4 days. These calls can be made with their own phone or with phones we will lend them to call you. It is not necessary for them to bring a mobile phone. In addition, you will be able to contact us at any time on the emergency phone. You will always be informed if there is any incident.

The camp is all inclusive but they can bring a small amount of pocket money to buy a soft drink or snacks on excursions.

Every day the campers have moments of free time to enjoy camp their own way and share time with their friends. After lunch and before dinner they will have that time. During that time the instructors continue to keep an eye on the camp and we have optional activities such as sports games.

Depending on the camp we have cabins with 6 to 14 spots and tents with 3 to 4 spots. We organise the rooms by talking with the kids themselves on the first day after having arranged games so they get to know each other. We manage it so they are with other campers of similar ages and so they can be with their friends if they came together. If they don’t know anyone don’t worry, we take care of it. The cabins/tents are not mixed, boys and girls sleep separately.

We do not have a parents’ day scheduled at the camp, but if you want to visit your child get in touch with us. On the way home, the child can be picked up by their father or mother, or by a person designated by you and authorised in writing before pick-up.
